I bought this to use during my deployment to Afghanistan and I have to tell you that I LOVE IT! I really didn’t think it would make the trip over here and then I figured at the most I’d get a few months of usage and then it would fail. Well, I’ve been over here about 6 months and use it every Saturday night for what I call “movie night” – yes a couple hours of down time – and it has really stood up well. I’m not saying it’s got the picture quality of a 6000.00 dollar projector, but the picture for the 300 dollars I paid is much better than expected. I will also tell you that light, any light, is not your friend when using this device, but as long as it’s dark it’s picture is as good as any cheap large screen TV (50″ or better). I don’t play video games personally, but I expect that when I get home and hand this off to my teenager he’s going to love it. Sound, absolutely sucks, you need a speaker system if you’re planning on watching movies or playing video games; or the room would have to be absolutely quit, which is impossible because the cooling fan is a bit loud. Also, the battery didn’t last but about, well…I don’t think it lasted two days to be honest. I didn’t really use it the first few weeks but I noticed that it wouldn’t hold a charge when I was setting it up about a week after I got here; If I were using this professionally and giving presentations I guess that would irritate me and I’d probably lower my review to 4 stars. All in all, for what I use it for, watching a movie on the weekend, I Love it and I wouldn’t buy it anywhere but Amazon, and no I don’t work for them, but every time, every time, I’ve had a problem with a company selling junk and not backing their warranty Amazon has taken care of it immediately. Too bad other companies don’t that picture.
